We live in a culture that constantly gives the message that we need to find ourselves outside of ourselves. Instead of going inward, we need to go outward. We need to experience in order to know, that we need to have a few mess-ups, heartbreaks, etc in order to find where we really belong.
There is a scripture I read the other night: For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. Psalm 139:13
God already knows who we are to our core. I guarantee there are many people walking around lost and even those who think they have found themselves may not.
Since we were knit together with the craftiest handyman its safe to say that we are uniquely designed and favored by God. He alone shows me who I am and what I am destined for.
When I veer off of his path, I actually veer off of mine. When I don’t take his guidance, I am leading myself away from who I truly am and who I am supposed to become step by step.
Instead of going to any other place, I pray that tonight you would take some time to ask him who you are and listen.
I guarantee he will surprise you with how wonderful he thinks you are and that no matter what you are going through right now- that isn’t who you are it is just a circumstance that you are battling.
