Back when my Grandma was still alive, I had a convo with her about this guy that I could not get over. I was actually engaged to him at one point but had broken up with him. She gave me some advice. She said some of the circumstances that I was going through would not have happened if God wouldnt have allowed it. She said she learned in her own life to let thing go because she knew God was in control and she just really trusted that Gods will would be done in her life.
For a long time I tried to hang on with a tight fist. How many have a hard time doing that with things in their life? They have trouble giving the control over to the one who actually could do something to make things beautiful for you. How many would have had an even more beautiful life had they allowed God in? But they were too scared God would mess up their carefully laid plans, so they decided to keep him out?
Its hard not to control our own lives, we think that its our business to make sure that we are successful? But what about losening the reigns a bit and allowing him room to lead our lives and do what he wants to do. When things happen that dont go our way, why not have the mindset that he allowed it so I can rejoice. He knows what he is doing. HE wouldn’t have allowed it if it wasnt sent for my good in some way shape or form.
So today choose not to control, choose to live with open palms to the Lord and make no thing or circumstance your God.
