There has been some talk from one of the strong women prophets that I follow around the topic of prophetic insecurity. I am in the process of writing a blog bost about all of the wrong things and guidelines people have tried to tell me about following the voice of God. If it were up to people God wouldnt be able to speak about certain topics, he would only speak in a certain type of way and it will fit the norms of what has been passed down from generation to generation.
I have had to learn that the voice inside of me takes precedence over all of the teaching that I have received that contradicted a God who caused people to fear when he spoke, who caused a man to become dumb when he doubted him and who spoke through a donkey.
So anyways..that was a tangent.
But there are some of you that are SO insecure about the fact that God COULD possibly speak to you! You go around and around in your mind. Is this it or is that it. Then you talk to men and women of GOd over and OVER again and they tell you no that doesnt sound right.And then you want another person to talk to. You basically want to hear God in a way that requires absolutely no faith to follow.
Did you not know that you will never reach a place where you wont have to take a risk with God? Now I have seen people that just arent risk takers and sometimes I am downright jealous that Im not like that. I am not a person who will ride a rollar coaster but I have taken risks in the spirit realm.
For some people this insecurity that they deal with when it comes to following what they believe God is showing them is actually a personality flaw. In real life you battle insecurity and not trusting the decisions that you make and that is bleeding over into this. Thats why a one size fits all doesnt really work when it comes to what we will experience on our journey of following him because we all carry different strengths and weaknesses.
For those that kinda like a life of trying to figure out what God is saying and then doing it. (Some of us are built that way) I want you to believe this..you can hear from God. The voice of a stranger you will not follow. Just read plenty of word, live as holy as you can, and trust that God will lead you and try your best. But dont make getting the perfect pitch of his voice your idol. Dont be so worried about getting it wrong that you ask and then go on a 500 day prayer fast and run down every person at church asking them there opinion. Just simply rest in the fact that he leads you because you have a personal relationship with him. You can simply do what you believe he is saying to you and trust him with your life. You can trust that if you do what you believe he is saying to you that things are going to somehow turn out right. God will come through for you.
So be a little more confident.
Its gonna turn out alright. .
