There are so many opinions floating around out there. I personally love quotes, sometimes when I am bored I’ll search quotes online. I’ll notice many times there are many contradictory quotes on the same subject. Absence makes the heart grow fonder..out of sight, out of mind.. I mean, which one should I believe? Which one should I follow?
I have heard a lot about how one should get out of dysfunctional situations. I have heard others give advice to people to shut the door on dysfunctional family members, relationships, work situations, etc.. Some of it, I would shake my head in agreement because from the outside looking in, it looks just…wrong
But what if you are a Joseph and you get that inkling that Potiphers wife has the hotts for you. When he isn’t around she is trying to test your virtue. You get the feeling something bad is fixin’ to happen. And yep, sure enough she manipulates you after you did the right thing and turned her down, and then because of what she did, you find yourself in a very dark place.
What if you are now in prison for something you did not do, and God requires that you learn how to serve in that lonely, dark place. Is it time to complain, and stay stalled in the place you are because well, you did not deserve this or do you get busy on being functional in a very dysfunctional place? Do you learn how to believe that no matter what you see, this isn’t who you are? Do you learn how to operate on God’s level even in a place that doesn’t look like you?
Do you believe that you can live functionally with his spirit as your guide, protection and peace as you walk in dysfunctional places?
