Lately I have been in a situation that has allowed me to realize how important it is to have self-control. How we deal with others matters.
There are times where a lack of self-control can really damage people who are not worthy of the damage that unnecessary gossip, words, and actions hurt them.
There are many even in church that have this wordly view that says Im good with you until you do something I dont like and then you are dead to me.
Self-Control is a fruit of the spirit, and it is something that we can exercise and learn over time. It is also something that God can help us with if we pray for strength to exercise this fruit of the spirit in our relationships with others.
Self control happens when we give others a chance even after we believe they have wronged us. Self control happens when we dont use our feelings and emotions or lack thereof to react to others. Instead, we match what we are doing by Gods word and what is right when is comes to treating others with the grace that we ourselves have needed or will need.
It is my intention to keep growing in this area and to become a person who has a lot of grace for others. God will be my vindicator and God will take care of me as I take care of others.
