There are so many people that are plain broken in the area of their love lives. Some people will not be able to open their hear to be loved because of what they have been through in the past, some people are married but in a mess that needs the touch of God on it, and some will jump into marriage while they are a mess thinking that they will find their answer that way.
Giving our love lives completely to the Lord is not easy. In fact, I think it is one of the toughest areas to truly surrender. Some people do it automatically so that God doesnt ever have to deal with them on the subject, while many struggle with their own will.
There are little and big sins that we keep in our love lives that keep us from the straight paths that God wants to give us. He does not get glory out of your love life staying completely crazy and messed up. He gets glory when you come out of that and you have a story to tell about how you hung on to Jesus and HE brought wholeness into your life when you had no other hope but him.
There are many who wont go through the work it takes to surrender a messed up love life. I am convinced that a lot of people need to just pray dedicated prayers and spend special time with the Lord about their love life and they dont need to stop until they have a permanent life healing in this area.
They dont have any hope. They dont have any faith that GOd will bring them out. They dont realize that God operates the same in the area of their love life that they do in each and every area of their lives.
When we seek to do his will, he gives us everything we need to recover all and live life perfectly in his will. Which is a place where we can find all of the peace and joy that we need.
What if you gave God your entire love life, you committed to follow him in all your ways, but it took 5-10 years for him to do everything he wanted to do and set you on a stable place?
That isnt what anyone wants to hear. We dont want to hear that things are going to take time. Just like Sara in the bible who finally recieved her promised child. She didnt want to have to wait that long.
But we see over and over again that God is the Lord of our lives and it is him you says that we should follow and trust in his plan. Yet, there are many who want to remain control over their love lives, not seeking his guidance each step along the way and then end up come back to him anyways. Because they stepped outside of his will, and now they didnt get what they were trying to get anyways.
They come to the realization that no matter what they do, they could never get what their hearts desire was anyways and have that kind of love story that they wanted without Jesus anyways. SO they may come to the realization later on in life, that this time I am going to do it right and this time I am going to trust Jesus with everything.
I hope you come to the place where you realize you really can trust Jesus with everything. I hope you come to the place where you realize the gifts that you desire can never satisfy you anyways. So while your waiting on him to bring his best to you, you can enjoy the best thing that could ever be in your life anyways and that is HIM.
HE is the only one who can truly satisfy a heart that can not be satisfied with anything else. And while you are enjoying him and getting to know him as the true lover of your soul, he will allow someone to come along that will bring you even closer to your purpose and relationship with Jesus.
