There are some situations in life where we really need divine guidance. The longer I serve the Lord, the more I learn to ask him what he thinks and follow him on it for even the littlest of things. I have to admit before a couple of years ago and even sometimes now, I get scared to ask him for guidance. He may want me to do something I don’t want to do!
And what I have learned about Jesus is many times what he leads me to do really is not what I would normally do but it has led me to either a better life or to become a better me.
There was a time I was praying that a coworker would stop being so cantankerous. She had been so wrong to me on several occasions and she had gotten away with it. I felt that familiar impression to my heart showing me that I needed to go and apologize to her. In my mind I thought, Apologize for what! I did nothing wrong.
I did not want to apologize but I did it anyways. I have never seen such a usually grouchy person turn so sweet and thank me for the words of apology. The more I surrender and receive guidance from him, the better I become and the more I learn to live his way.
What is an area that you need guidance in? Don’t be afraid to ask him what he thinks. Also, don’t forget to do what he leads you to do.
