The places that are broken, are usually broken for a reason. Often, those places haven’t learned how to live in the guidelines his word has given us, which is a big book of advice on how to live our best lives.
In order to become stronger than the enemies in your life, is to become stronger yourself. A way to become stronger is to realize where your strength lies. Your strength is already hidden deep in his words. The more we learn to live by his guidelines, the more we will start to live whole lives. Below are a few things I’ve learned and applied to become stronger internally than the things fighting me.
-
Confess and learn to live without any ways contradictory to advice in the Bible
Whatever area you are weak in, take a moment to reflect if there are any hidden wrongdoings. Sin ( or actions against his advice) blocks him from being able to reside fully in the part of your heart that holds the sin. So, no matter how big or small, letting go of the sin, wrong ways of thinking, and weights on our spirit will allow you to welcome his power into your situation and life. Where God resides, wholeness starts to form.
One of the verses that I love is 2 Chronicles 7: 14. It tells us a formula on how to heal our land ( or our lives). I started to use this scripture in the areas of my life that I felt were broken.
Here are three things about this verse:
-
It says ” If my people” which means his people sin and are involved in wrongdoing. There is an area in each of our lives where we could learn better habits.
-
You have to humble yourself to have the things that are yours (or your land) healed
-
You have to seek his face( or his counsel) and turn from your wicked ways ( or wrong ways of doing things)
The word says he who is faithful in little is faithful in much. This lets us know that even the little things matter. And sometimes, they make all the difference. Small little pebbles in your life can cause a lot of frustration and it’s best just to get them out. Go ahead and clean your spirit out so that he can truly live and work in the broken areas of your life.
Say this prayer with me:
Lord, I want to learn how to live my life in a way that leads me to the full life you have for me. Help me to see anything contradictory to the word of God. Help me to see clearly what you want me to do and accept your instruction.
2. Humble Yourself to Be Lifted Up Matthew 23:12
The other part to this scripture is to humble yourself. I feel for people from broken homes and that have broken parts of their life. But a lot of times people that are broken have victim mentalities and are shielding their heart from truly healing because they are trying to avoid pain (which is inevitable to growth) and they are hiding behind pride, believing they didn’t deserve the lot they were dealt.
But, it takes a lot of humbleness to grow into the whole, full individual you are meant to be. The great thing is God will heal your land if you would just humble yourself , pray and turn from your wrong ways( aka learn a different way of living).
3. Learn how to rely on his strength
Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength Isaiah 26:4
The best way to build up your strength when you have none, is to go to the father and ask for it. I believe that for myself his strength is something I’ve had to learn to put on. Many times in the past, I did not realize that the burdens I was carrying, I could simply go into his presence and ask him to help me have the strength to carry. Sometimes, learning a different way to live and walk is really difficult. But his strength is there for you. Try going to him in prayer and not getting up until you feel better.
This year was a life-changer year for me. About a year ago, I made the commitment to increase my prayer time and spend time in focused-prayer. My prayer time is mostly simply talking to him. Most of the time, I simply sit down and tell him everything that I am feeling and thinking. This is the time that I take care of me in his presence. For instance, there were many days I had personal goals that I knew I could not reach without his strength. On these days after expressing my frustration, I would simply pray specifically for extra strength to do what he wanted and I wanted me to do. Soon, I would feel different and I would be ready to walk in a better, more strengthened mindset for the day.
The scripture above stated that he has everlasting strength. I bet if you thought in your mind right now how you really wanted your life to be, it would seem like a hard goal compared to where you are right now. It would require some super muscles.
Prayer is where you can acquire what you need. He won’t let you down. In order to become stronger than the things fighting on the outside, you will have to become stronger on the inside. All of theses things will help you to do that. You have to take care of your emotional mental and spiritual man.
The God of the universe is there to teach you, mold you, and help you to overcome. As you remove the wrong mentalities, sins, weights, and start to take on his ways you will begin to see the weakness leave your life and his strength seep into it.
