Being a prayer person is awesome. Living morally and being good to people reaps great benefits. But, what about the fact that there are a lot of good people that stay stuck in their lives for long periods of time. But they are praying, praying, praying.
But there is one thing that is keeping them stuck. And it doesn’t sound as spiritual as saying they need to fast and pray more, or they need to give up this or that.
It is simply wisdom.
They have not walked the correct steps in order to get to the other side. They have not learned. Wisdom is vastly important and the bible says to seek after it. Try to learn how to do life differently, in a way that will bring you to a new, better level. And don’t just learn and know what that wisdom is in your head, actually walk it out.
Proverbs 1:7 Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. (NLT)
The word actually says fools despise wisdom and discipline. They have not learned to love growing, yet. Because if they did, they would also love learning how to grow and be willing to listen to instruction and bring themselves to a place where they have developed habits that help their lives instead of staying in cycles of needing to be taken care of by other people whether that is financially, spiritually, or emotionally.
Proverbs 3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. (NIV)
The bible also says to be not wise in your own eyes. If you think you know it all, there is no way to grow. Have a growing spirit where you are able to accept and recognize the things that are good for you. Being wise in your own eyes can simply mean you are not listening. Maybe you have had instruction before but you never implemented it. You never collaborated with another viewpoint and tried if it worked or not.
Proverbs 4:6-7 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. (NIV)
The scripture above shows how valuable wisdom is for us to have. Wisdom will protect us from bad things happening in our families, personal lives, finances, health, etc. It says though it cost all you have..sometimes it will cost everything in order to put away behaviors and things that show our lack of wisdom. IT will take everything to get on the right path and start following wisdom, but that everything you have will be exchanged for a better life and for a life of wisdom which will guide you to a better place.
